Edward:  Hey Rex, welcome back to Connex247 family!

Rex:  Yes Edward, it's been too long!  Well I was born in Long Beach, CA and spent some time growing up and enjoying life at the beach as a little guy.  Then I moved to Ohio and spent years there going back and forth between California and Ohio.  I believe I am of Polish descent... though what percentage and all those other details I couldn't tell you.

Rex PachutaEdward:  Definitely you are living a real special moment in your career!. So, tell us about your current projects.

Rex:  A real special moment? I agree this has been my first 2 months spent modeling in the competitive NYC market with Red Model Management (formerly Vision).  Things have been crazy and exciting.  Being the "fresh" model that I am most of my work at the moment consists of editorial (magazine) work, test work, and lots and lots of castings!!

Edward:  You are more toned now! Tell us about your routine.

Rex:  It's fairly simple these days - After 3 years of proper lifting and eating  I have learned that if you're small and want to get more muscular you simply horde in the calories and spend an hour or two at the gym.  Keep in mind those must be healthy calories packed with protein and healthy carbs (Chicken and Brown Rice has always been a favorite for me).

Rex PachutaIt will only be a short time until you see results.  If you are overweight or a little too muscular (as I am at the moment) then you lose weight through cardio training and a reduced-calorie diet.  Trust me ladies and gentlemen, the low-carb diet along with many other "fad" diets are a bunch of bologna which will only produce temporary results.

It is very easy to split your 3-meal day into a 6 (smaller) meal day to keep your blood sugar levels balanced and your metabolism cranking!!  Also take note and avoid high-carb foods later in the day as the energy will be stored as fat (though I have been known to sneak in a bowl of granola here and there as a late night snack).  As always, dedication and persistence equates to reward.

Edward:  We currently live in a body-conscious society where people have a strong desire to be in good shape.

Rex:  Haha it's funny you ask that question to a model because in this industry physical appearance is Very important to a successful career.  In other industries it's not as important with telephone calls and e-mails connecting the business world, but I still think staying in good shape is important no matter what industry you are in.

Rex PachutaWalking into a room and radiating confidence in yourself and your healthy appearance easily convinces people that you are a successful individual and the words my father spoke couldn't have been any truer, "Success attracts Success."  Some modeling jobs I book just based on appearance and my unique look.  Other times I book the jobs because I walk in with the confidence to look the casting director in the eye and show through the way I carry myself that I am the right guy for the job.  Self-esteem can make or break an individual.

Edward:  What do you like most when you work with a photographer?

Rex: I love photographers who are willing to let go and have fun on a shoot.  I have shot with photographers who are nervous and their pictures reflect their emotion.  Other photographers have been stuck up and very critical - on some occasions their pictures still look good because of their own skill, but it’s a photographer that lets go and makes the model feel comfortable that manages to surpass all others.

Rex PachutaI will work with friendly photographers again and again just because of how easily they can capture "Me" in their pictures.  I really enjoy shooting with creative, easygoing photographers.

Edward:  I' m sure you might have some unusual/funny moments to share with us!

Rex:  It's funny whenever I am asked a question like that my mind instantly goes blank.  But a couple quick ones I can think of off the top of my head; some random man on the street asked me if I wanted to arm wrestle as I was walking by... that was interesting to say the least!

Modeling wise, I was recently notified of a casting 30 minutes before the casting and I was easily an hour away.  I sprinted almost the entire way there (over 40 blocks in Manhattan) and showed up dripping sweat in a tanktop and shorts only to get a callback! I have yet to see if I booked the job...

Rex PachutaEdward:  Now, a question about fans. What do you think about them and how do you rate importance to fan clubs around the world?

Rex:  Fans are awesome - I don't know how many I have out there being as new as I am to this industry, but I hope they all know that I appreciate EACH and EVERY ONE of them.  Every time I get an e-mail or message from a fan it is always filled with kind and encouraging words; those are the kind and encouraging words that that drive me to keep pushing every day - you guys are awesome!

Edward:  How do you describe Rex´s style, concerning:

Rex:

Fashion:  Edgy and always different (I "redesigned" my shoes for example just so I could be different from the norm).  I create my own looks and dress for my mood.  My hair would be crazy if I didn’t have to conform to a few of the restrictions of the fashion industry.

Love:  I'm the dating type; I don't mind fun casual relationships, but I prefer being extremely close to someone rather than being in an obviously temporary relationship.  Nevertheless, I am too young to settle down with anyone long-term just yet, so I am enjoying meeting new people and just having fun!

Sports: I love sports! I am not the best at them because I wasn't really raised to be a jock; my parents were very focused on my education and I taught myself to throw a football lol.  Nevertheless, I am naturally a decent athlete and I love playing basketball, football, tennis, ping-pong, volleyball, and all your typical sports.  I especially love surfing and different sports like that - they are more thrilling and less competitive.

Edward:  Rex, thanks so much for sharing your story with us again.

Rex: Thanks so much to all of you who took the time out of your day to read this!!! I hope to be staring back at you through the pages of magazines and billboards of campaigns in the near future!  You guys are the best and thanks so much for letting me speak my mind again Ed!
