AIR FORCE CAREER

I'm a guy from a mid-western family (Cincinnati, Ohio) who moved to the Boston area when I was 8 years old. I grew up there and, when I was 18 years old, I left home for the U.S. Air Force Academy to study for 4 years and become an Air Force Officer. I did that for 5 years and, during that time, gained my pilot's license.

ReichenWhen I got out of the Air Force, I became a flight instructor and an entrepreneur. I've owned my own Charter Air service (Tribe Airways),

RIDICULOUS AND BACKWARDS POLICY!

I've had a fun career in television, including my own show, "The Reichen Show", have created a jewelry line, "Fly Naked" (available at www.LoveandPride.com), and have written a book called "Here's What We'll Say" about all the lies I had to tell to make it through the Air Force Academy as a gay cadet--to avoid the punishments of the ridiculous and backwards "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy of our U.S. military.

I currently operate a bank card processing business as well. I ride motorcycles and I try to fly as many different kinds of planes as I can. Yeah, I'm a busy guy.

I'm still following them all. LOL. I can't concentrate on just one career because I have so many interests.

ReichenBEING NUMBER ONE GUY

To me, being famous is being that "number one guy" to one special person in my life. If I'm handling that task, then I'm successful. The toughest things we do in life are to hold together relationships. We should learn from our mistakes, forgive others for theirs, and realize the value of love and the human being standing in front of us.

FAVORITE PLACES

  1. Park City, Utah (for the skiing at Deer Valley Ski Resort)
  2. Norway, Maine (for it's breathtakingly beautiful lake that I love to fish on)
  3. Oahu, Hawaii The North Shore because it's so private and quiet.
  4. Sydney and Cairns Australia. Some of the most beautiful places and people I've ever seen
  5. Rio, Brazil I haven't been there yet, but I'm headed there Thursday and I can't wait.

ReichenON GLOBAL FAN BASE

I don't know how to answer this. I guess it's hard to believe I have fans, because it still feels crazy to me that people I don't know yet, know me!  I would rather think of those great people as supporters who understand my passion and beliefs in what needs to be done, as well as understanding my right to attain personal success, just like they would want to.

CONTINUE SPEAKING UP FOR RIGHTS

Yes, we do, but we're far from finished in attaining REAL equality. We have to continue to speak up for our rights and to let people know that we are gay and that we didn't choose to be this way. We need to ask more heterosexual people, "When did you decide to be straight?"

DEMOCRATIC PARTY

I identify with the Democratic party moreso because of their emphasis on human rights and equality. As an entrepreneur and business owner, I like some of the ideals of the conservative party. But my heart overtakes my checkbook. I hope Hillary Clinton wins and, if she doesn't, then Barack Obama.

ReichenTHE ORIGIN OF FLY NAKED

Fly Naked was something we joked about in Commercial Flight School. On your first solo in a particular plane, you were supposed to strip out of your clothes and fly the plane completely naked. You had to come back to tell the rest of the gang you did it and you had to be honest. I had "FlyN8KD" as my license plate and a jewelry designer, who I know, saw it.

He asked me what it meant and I told him. At that moment he said, "We need to make a jewelry line out of this! It's SO YOU!" And Fly Naked was born.  It's inspired by my love of the military and aviation. I give 10% of what someone pays for a piece to The Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, who fights for the rights of gay people serving in the military. (www.SLDN.org)

DANTE'S COVE

ReichenCurrently I'm working on a new reality show all my own, and I'm doing Dante's Cove Season 4. I've been asked back...or should I say, "TREVOR" has been asked back! I'm really excited. I love doing the show, I love Here! Network, and I love the other cast members.

PUTTING SHIRT ON

I've done all I want to do in the modeling world. I'm still open to new ideas, but there comes a point when it's time to keep your shirt on and talk about things you care about. Sometimes people won't listen to you if you have your shirt off. Is this making any sense? LOL

NEVER PRETENDED

Aww, well there is no one rule I could say. I know I was always just MYSELF. I never pretended to be someone I wasn't or changed my personality because I assumed people in the industry wanted me to act a certain way.  Stay sweet and true and you will do fine. And hit the gym! (that helps!)

ReichenVERY SHY ABOUR GETTING UNDRESSED

I have had so many situations where a manager or a publicist had me doing a shoot for something where it wasn't made clear to me what I was REALLY going to do. I tend to be very shy about getting undressed. Although there are lots of pictures out there of me in a bathing suit or underwear, those were minutes of my life where I was actually like that, and it took the photographer hours to talk me into being comfortable enough to go through with it.

PUBLIC OPINION CHANGE

Public opinion has been CHANGED by my book and that's the most beautiful thing about it. I have shown the country that the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy lacks any sort of integrity, that it ruins people's lives, and that it costs us, as a country, tons in the way of money and overall military readiness.

OFF TO ED's BRAZIL!!!!

I'm just coming to relax, have fun, and fly a hang glider off a mountain onto your beaches. Maybe I'll do that twice. I'm coming next Thursday to Sao Paulo. I'll be in Rio just a few days later.

Stay with modeling
written by JC on June 04, 2008

You are fun to look at and should stay with modeling and out of politics or any attempts to be a spokesperson for any gay causes. You just don't come across as an intelligent person and that is the last thing we need. I don't agree with "Don't Ask Don't Tell" either but then again I don't agree with war, so...Anyway, you should keep your mouth shut, you are embarrassing gay men everywhere with your stereotypical rants and lifestyle.

Awesome!

Thank heavens you choose to pursue modeling career as one of your long-term future plans (coz after I read all of them, you are an awesome guy with a broad mind. First pilot, then a flight instructor, entrepreneur, model and TV star. Two word: Fa Bu! and Whoa!), and thanks for being so honest. A lot of models instead loved it when they have to took their shirts off to flaunt their superciliously perfect smile and saliva-drooling pecs and abs. But your sincerity about your lack of comfort stripping your shirt off really makes a human out of you. Don't we all feel that way?

Wish you all the best for your bright-futured career! Take care and be safe.

Nice to see a hot, smart gay guy who is doing so great. Brains and beauty and he seems so nice an average type of guy.. I was a gay in the military, before the "Don't ask".
