Edward: WELCOME TO CONNEX247 FAMILY MARCO DA SILVA! Hmm, this name seems so familiar to me cause it´s a popular brazilian name!!!LOL LOL LOL! Well, well, to start it up, tell us about your yourself, hometown and heritage. And what are your personal interests?
Marco: Well i just turned 30. A typical gemini. I get bored really fast with things
thats why i love my job so much cause it's versatile and different everyday. I'm 100% portugese but born and raised in germany/hamburg.
I've traveled almost all over the world and lived in city such as hamburg, cologne, amsterdam, barcelona and right now i call london my home. My personal interest are laying in music. I love all kind of music.i love my sports 4 times a week i go to the gym and lift weights. Apart from that i dance everyday. I love fashion
not neccessarily i wear a lot of fashion but have thing for it.
Edward: Marco, you have such a terrific portfolio and amazing background. Music, dance
CHOREOGRAPHY!! Definitely are some of your passions. So, tell us, how did all started?
Marco: Well it all started i guess with me as kid
i always seemed to be dancing around. Later in my teenager years i lost interest in dance and my life went into bad direction. I guess i had wild teenager years. 7 years ago i had to wake up and do something about my life.so i decided to start dancing and trying to concentrate on that
thank god i escaped my lifestyle from the past and discovered all the talent that i have in every way.
Edward: How,do you define your style when you work with artists like Kyle Minogue and Mariah Carey?
Marco: Well with every kind of artist you work different. It has so much to do about the artist himself, the music, the style of the show everything and how much the artist puts into it. Mariah likes every thing very butch very urban kylie instead is up for taking it to diffrent levels and shocking a bit more. But personally i like to take everything on a wild side....
Edward: What are your main musical and dancing references? In your opinion, music and dance, as general, have been facing an important moment in show business? Do you see any interesting music/dancing movement like we had last century?

Marco: My biggest shows i played in music was mamma mia and west side story.as a commercial dancer i would say kylie minogue and mariah carey. I believe that the show business wouldnt be the same without music or dance in it.
There so many artists that we admire but only because they have amazing shows which incorporates dance. Like janet jackson, madonna, cher, britney spears, kylie minogue etc
..all these shows of these artists are what they are because of dancers who make a show look good and entertaining.
Edward: Let´s talk about modeling world now. How did you get discovered and how was your first test shooting?
Marco: OK it all started in 2002 when i was dancing on stage for a big german girlroup called no angels. It was actually an underwear fashion show where the girls were special act. After the show this photographer asked me if i would be interested in a photoshoot for uk´s biggest gay magazine called attitude.
So a month later we shoot that thing and it was something I had to get used to. I liked the camera I more was not familiar with being able to sell a certain type. The shoot was called unplugged and it was in a hotel room, very simple, no make up very young hooker boy looking. Not exactly what I liked but I took the chance.
Edward: What´s the best thing about modeling for you so far?
Marco: Being able to show off different sides of me. I love the camera,i sometimes get way to flirty with the camera. I mean it's also a good kick for myself and a prove that my hard work and pain on my body is paying off since every client wants to see me half naked on the pictures
lol I get to travel, to meet amazing people and experience amazing locations.
Edward: Fashion Model, runway model, print model...how do you face this whole modeling media, the paparazzis, fans, etc etc. Do you think fashion is a glamorous world?
Marco: Fashion is definitely a glamorous world. Unfortunately more to the outside then inside. It is a shallow, hard , bitter world where everybody is trying to succeed, no matter if you are a designer, a model, etc. Every business has its own good sides and bad sides. As a person in the public you have to give up a lot of privacy
thats what you pay to be in this environment.
Fans sometimes can cross the lines very much
I have a special case myself that Im being stalked by a male person
..he's everywhere I go
unfortunately even in front of my apartment. I nicely told him off but every other day he's standing there. Kinda scary how people can get so addicted and mixed up in their own world.
Edward: As a model u think u´ve already achieved your main purposes in the modeling market? If not, which modeling agencies, fashion campaigns and designers u´d like to work for?
Marco: I had one goal that i always wanted to reach and that was being on the cover of a magazine. I've already been on 2
which Im very happy about. But there's something I really would love to do and that would be a runway show at the fashion weeks in Milan and New York. I would love to walk for d2squared!!! I think their shows are extremely sexy very butch and have always amazing locations and hot themes. So that would be it
..but i know that this would not happen since I'm 5.10 and not tall enough for the runway business
.. Although I think my look and tattoos would fit perfect to d2squared.
Edward: What do you like most when you work with a photographer?
Marco: I love when the moment connects and the photographer gets inspired by the model and the opposite
..it's nothing better then a flow on a shoot where both parts feel happy with the results. Sometimes it's hard cause it can happen that there is no connection what so ever
.and thats when it gets hard cause you never know why. Is it you, is it him ..is it the location that doesnt work?
Edward: Are u a fashion guy? What do u like to wear when u are not working as a model?
Marco: hmmm
.!? Thats a tough question. I'm into fashion but most of the stuff i wouldnt wear
.i love the skinny pants , sneakers 80´s look but i wouldnt wear it cause i feel uncomfortable. I would describe my style of clothes something like sexy ghetto street wear with a touch of attitude. It really depends in which mood I'm in
one day i wear trackpants and hoodie the other one jeans with a button shirt, the other one just a cargo pants and a singlet
..but all of that i wear big and loose
..very hiphop and I love my collection of new era cappy´s.
