Edward: Tell us a bit about your life.
Julian: I guess I'm kind of an adrenaline junkie. I love participating in extreme sports such as snow boarding, surfing, rock climbing, base jumping and the like. I also have a calm pensive side as well. I enjoy ethnic food, going to concerts and traveling. So I try to strive for the experiences of life.
Edward: How did you decide to pursue a career as a model?
Julian: Well I never said I wanted to be a model. I was in grad school when I was approached in a club. at first I thought it was BS and didn't pay any mind to it. My friend said go for it and that they were a great agency. The next week I was shooting for my first exercise magazine. It is a tough career, you just need to find your niche. Mine is fitness and body stuff. So therefore I do well.
Edward: Share some of your goals with us.
Julian: Well I have reached many of my goals already. I would still like to get my first fitness magazine cover though. Also want to get into more TV and film work. I would also like to do some modeling work in Asia.
Edward: How important is beauty?
Julian: Beauty is like a key. It opens doors. But once you get inside you have do something with it or you might as well be not be there. A personality and a heart shine through and make someone truly beautiful. The opposite is also true.
Edward: Comment on your success so far.
Julian: It's been awesome. Sometimes I have to think about it for a second because I still don't believe it. A fitness model in a Saks 5th Avenue ad, that's not something you see often.
Edward: What would you say is the key to success?
Julian: I would say it's consistency. That goes with exercise, diet and living a healthy lifestyle. I do go off my routine at times. But manage to get back on when I can.
Edward; What is your favorite body part?
Julian: My favorite body part. You have to ask? LOL. Well besides that I like my abs. They took so long to get but they look great. So I appreciate them more.
Edward: How are you motivated to achieve your best?
Julian: I would say that I'm pretty much a self motivator. I've had a lot of encouragement from friends but the journey starts by taking one's own steps.
Edward: Where would you pick to choose a vacation?
Julian: Well I really want to go back to Asia. I love the food. The culture is ancient and the people are so friendly. I would love to go with a native, so they can show me the sites through their eyes.
Edward: Gives us some tips for success.
Julian: I would tell them to just be persistent, believe in yourself and find your niche.
Edward: Tell us about the great influences on your life.
Julian: The biggest influence on my life. Hmmm....probably don't have one singleone. I kinda read a lot growing up and found inspiration from the great thinkers and philosophers throughout history. Plato, Aristotle, the trancendentalists-Emerson, Thoreau.
Edward: Share the upside and downside of a modeling career.
Julian: Modeling's greatest plus is the travel and meeting new people. I have seen
some really exciting places. Also meeting some really great people along the
way. People who are now my friends and who are very interesting and lead exciting lifestyles. Some of the downsides include the fact that knowing this is a time limited field is a bummer. Nobody wants to see a 40 fitness model. But then again maybe they do!
Edward: And a final message?
Julian: I just wanted to thank everyone for their support. Always remember to find beauty in everything and remember that life is a gift so don't waste it.
