Edward: JASON BORISH, welcome back to Connex247 family! As a matter of fact, you´ve been always around huh? Well, let´s start our talking in a different way. Let´s talk about special moments. Jason, share with us a real unforgettable moment u had before Connex and why u think it is really special for you.
Jason: Well Ed, its funny that you had mentioned that. When i think of unforgettable moments, certain things come to mind immediately, mostly negative situations that end positive in the long run. But if i were to choose one that was strictly positive on both ends, it would have to be the first game of my senior year in HS in Brunswick, Ohio when i made a half court heave practically to tie the game to send it into OT.
We had 3 seconds to operate, our team was down by three. Coach drew up the play during a time out just for me, coming off two screens and squaring up for three pointer. I used to always live that moment when i was a kid, shooting baskets at a nearby park, envisioning myself making the buzzer beater. I knew that as soon as i was going to get the ball i was going to square up and stick that jumper, and I did,.. nothing but bottom...It felt awesome..But we eventually lost the game...The rush was like no other.
Edward: Since my first article about you, things have been happening real fast huh? The DVD, for example (The body shop vol 1 and Off the clock vol 2).Share with us how did it all happen? What did u think about your first experience in a DVD film?
Jason: Well it was definitely different. With that being my first ever project of that sort at the time I was in the process of learning of what my fan base wanted to see and learn about me the most. I enjoyed shooting it with Brian Johnson of MotionPicture Video. Had a great time. But I would make some changes for the next ones. I'm wanting my next film to be a documentary, with a mix of fitness. I'm eager to get one started this summer, and part 2! whenever you are ready Brian!
Edward: And it seems u are pursuing your career as a model now. How, why and exactly when u really decided to get into this business?
Jason: I don't look at it from a business aspect. More as a hobby, mainly because I have yet to make a considerable amount of dollars as of yet from the industry itself. It takes a lot of work , a lot of networking to get your name out there, to be noticed in the public eye. I love to get my picture taken and I love to enjoy the experience that comes along with it. The traveling, meeting new aquantances, so forth. just that experience alone is priceless.
But to answer your question ED, I am just focusing on getting together a huge portfolio by the early summer. I met a few people in Los Angeles that are in the networking " business " that are intrigued by my look, and likely will see what happens. But in this business there are no guarantees, and I have begun to accept that. Just work out hard, eat right, make time for friends, and network pro-socially. Whats meant to be will find its way.
Edward: Connex 247 is publishing for the first time your newest pics! Congrats Jason, you look great!! Really amazing pics!! Tell us about it. How did like it? And what do you like most when you work with a photographer? What are the main characteristics you admire when u pose for this professional?
Jason: This recent shoot with RayShanePhotography has really been up there in the top 10 experiences ever in my life. I worked extrememly hard to get ready for this shoot because i knew that Anthony would get the best photos out of me. Quite frankly the shoot mainly depends on relationship has with the photographer.
3 weeks prior to this shoot in Venice Beach Anthony and I both were literally stoaked, and when the time finally came we both just had the best time, just shooting where ever, getting some amazing shots. The man has unbelievalable charisma, great positive attitude, and willingness to succeed. I try to surround myself with people like that because it brings the best out of me..I've been around enough negativity in my life, the sky is the limit for RayShanePhotography.
Edward: Now, a question about fans. What do you think about them and how do you rate importance to fan clubs around the world?
Jason: I think it is great to have fan clubs. I appeciate my fans more than anything. One thing that i learned during these past 6 months is that each fan is different and has different specific needs. I try my best to reach out to all of them, and at the same time it is hard for me to distinguish what intrigues this person and that person. But honestly Ed, the best way to go about that is to be true to yourself, and always be yourself. A true fan will always accept you for who you are, and if they don't then, that is completely fine.
I try my best to go out of my way to please my fans, but once I begin to feel disrespected by anyone, I have a habit of burning bridges. That is completely fine with me. Praise and appreciation is very important to me. But once the line is crossed and I see my name or copyrighted pictures of mine on absurd blogs around the globe, it doesn't sit well with me. But I have begun to learn that it is all part of the game. It is what it is, Just have to maintain focus on the big picture, and ride along with it.
Edward: Just imagine a situation: You are anonymous in a crowd. Nobody notices you. Then all of a sudden, a fan approaches you and reveals to others that you are a model from a popular fashion campaign. The excitement takes over and the crowd gets wild. How would you handle it?
Jason: Hahahaha, I would be speechless the first time that would ever happen. Quite frankly I would be a happy camper to see the expressions on peoples faces that appreciate my look and work. I think if I were to be forced to say something i would literally freak, and maybe perhaps freeze on the mic. I'm just not good around large crowds.
It's funny because my brother got married 2 years ago. I was the best man and had to come up with a speech in front of a huge crowd in a banquet setting. I was thinking it was going to be extremely easy to do since he was my brother and that I knew basically everything about him and that I didn't need a script to look off of. But when i went to the podium and saw thousands of peoples eyes directed to me with complete silence, I literally froze and studdered. Everyone laughed at me and I made a complete fool out of myself to say the least, but after a few beers i was fine. LOL.
Edward: Are you an optimistic person? Love, Friendship, Hate, War, Human Rights, Sexual behaviors.. There are so many conflicts we´ve been dealing nowadays. Do you think we are living in a better society concerning these subjects?
Jason: It's definitely a material world we live in. You are right... there are so many conflicts concerning those subjects and it all boils down to materialism and selfishness. The world basically is what we make of it. These are all issues that are hard for me to answer because everyone has their own opinion on it, so I just try to stay away from the drama perspective of it.
If someone has a problem with something, complaining about it is going to get them nowhere but more frustrated. For instance Bush is going to do what he wants to do while he's in office. We have been complaining about lost casualties in a pointless war for how long now? I disagree with my government, but I love my freedom. I feel as if I'm in the position to not worry about what's going on with them puppets and just try to make my own living.
Edward: Jason, thanks so much for sharing your story with us again. Before you leave, a final message to your Connex fans around the world and your plans for this year
Jason: The ones that have expressed interest about me and with what goes on with me, you all rock! The tributes and praise have been immense! This upcoming year expect me to make some noise in the industry. Because I have a good feeling about what lies ahead, even if there are no guarantees! Plenty of pictures and new additions to connex247.com will be noticed within the near future, so stay tuned all...and thank you for the support.
