Connex247:  Garrett, you have come into the modeling world in a big way. Can you tell us what got  you started?

Garrett:  Actually, I think it was some of the gym members back in the gym I use to work at in Dearborn, Michigan.  A few people told me that they thought I should try modeling, so I took their advice and talked to my friend Cedrick who also models and he gave me a photographer to contact. 

It just so happened to be the one who got his modeling started.  After that I opened a model mayhem account and started finding photographers to work with.

Connex247:  How are things going so far?

Garrett:  Things are going very well, new contacts started asking to shoot and I began finding several photographers who got some amazing captures.   I would like to start finding some more paid shoots and sign with an agency.

Connex247:  Your physique is stunning. Is it all natural? What have you done to get into that kind of shape?

Garrett:  Actually, I have been lifting weights for about 3 or 4 years now and I started forming a very healthy diet that cut all fast food out as well as Soda Pop.  Then, I took a nutrition course in college and learned how to eat a healthy diet that would allow me to burn fat and build more muscle.

Connex247:  Are you represented yet? If not, are you looking for an agent?

Garrett:  Currently, I do not have an agent because I Just started modeling and have just started learning about the new world.  So yes, I am looking for an agent to help find me paid gigs…

Connex247:  What are your modeling goals over the next year or two?

Garrett:  My goals for the next year or two is to find more paid assignments, sign with an agency and start traveling the country and even the world to work with more photographers and hopefully make it into magazines maybe even a cover.  I would also like to try making it into commercials and even start a little acting.

Connex247:  Have all your photo shoots been more or less the same, or really different from one another?

Garrett:  Most of them have been the same.  All of the photographers have been very helpful by giving me advice and encouraging me to seek and agency and further my look.  All of the shoots I was able to find a comfort zone with the photographer and find a zone where I could make amazing photographs.

Connex247:   We understand you are in your second year of college in northern California. What role will education play in your future?

Garrett:  I hope to attain a trainers certification while going to school and getting a degree in business as well nutrition.  So education will play a major role in my success…

Connex247:   And the importance of fans?

Garrett:  I feel that fans would help me with encouragement and keep me motivated to find more work and make the experience even better, although I would not mind just everything being normal and not having a huge following. But I would definitely not complain with a fan club if that is what you mean.

Connex247:  One of your photographers, Thomas Watkin, said you are among the most motivated models he had ever met. What motivates you?

Garrett:  I think that the support from my parents in anything that I do is a comfort to me and keeps me working hard at what interests me.  With my parents support I am able to put all of my effort into working towards my goals.  Also, the fact that I would like to have a wealthy and successful future and start earning money and saving as soon as possible.

Connex247:   Have you done any acting; would you like to pursue that along with modeling?

Garrett:  Yes, I stated above that I would really like to begin acting, I have always liked trying new things and I feel that I can play several different roles.  And definitely would work my hardest if given the opportunity to pursue acting.

Connex247:  Who have been the biggest influences in your life?

Garrett:  The biggest influences in my life are my Mom and Dad.  My mom has always been there to keep me on track and without that I would not have made it through school with a great education…As for my Dad, he is always there to talk to and he always backs me with anything that I do.  My dad is willing to help manage my time and has always helped me stick to my dieting by helping with meals and even kept me motivated at the gym, giving me goals to reach. 

My sister also kept pushing me to do well…All of the support from my family helps me and makes me work very hard…So if things work out well I would definitely like to repay that for being there for me. Many of the members of the gym I worked at over the summer also kept me motivated and helped train with me and gave me support and told me to keep pursuing the modeling.
