SURF A TON!

My name’s Erik, I’ve got 20 years under the belt right now, and I hail from the city of Ft. Pierce, FL. I am a hybrid, if you will, of German and I think Scottish or something “accenty” like that.

I play a lot of music (guitar) in my spare time, mostly reggae-esque stuff, soft rock, etc. I don’t know what else… I surf a ton, and destroy the competition on the shuffle board courts, haha!

AUNT PUSHED TOWARDS MODELING

I actually first got into modeling when I was a junior or so in high school, when my aunt started pushing me to try it. I said “what the hell,” sent a couple of regular pictures to a random agency in Orlando, and next thing I knew, I was up there making my first comp card. My first shoot was exciting for me, but looking back, was a bit of a joke of a photo shoot.

The photographer wasn’t the greatest at giving direction, especially to someone new to the whole thing. I’ve had to, since then, put a ton of time, money, effort and personal determination into stuff like travel, working out, eating well, and making connections as well as many other aspects of the game.

SKY IS LIMIT

I’ve been a full time college student ever since I signed with Evolution Management, so we have mostly spent a lot of time on getting my “look” together. (Still sounds weird saying stuff like that. Whatever.)  I have done numerous photo shoots under  guidance though as well. Guys like Ricardo Salazaar, Ethan James, and Rick Day are on the list. The sky is the limit now that I have put college on the back-burner for a little while, though, and I’m very excited to see what’s to come,

GOING OUT COMMANDO

I’ve gotten more into fashion the deeper I dig myself into this industry, but I’m still not the type to prance around in outfits worth hundreds of dollars, all decked out in the latest accessories, etc. Honestly, most days I’m ragged out going commando in a pair of jeans, t-shirt, and flops.

JUST KIDDING

In my free time, like I said before, I play a lot of guitar, a little racquetball here and there, spend a ton of time at the gym, surf a lot, and spend the rest of my time doing model stuff like tanning, posing in the mirror, and purging. HA!!! Just kidding on those last three. I do though, tend to stay out way too late and still manage most days to get up fairly early and stay busy all day.

EATING PERFECTLY

I like the environment to be as fun as possible, really chill, and lacking tension. But, sometimes it’s cool to have an intense and excited atmosphere as well. Guess it depends on what’s being shot. I usually eat PERFECTLY for about a week ahead of time, spend more time in the gym, get my hair did, etc.

LIKE CUT DIAMONDS?

Maybe funny after the fact, if you will; almost all of the outdoor shoots I’ve ever done were done in below freezing temperatures. When I shot last year with Ethan James in Murphreesboro, Tenn. We did this sort of lumberjack look in this big swampy, muddy area. You can’t tell from the pictures – aside from the fact that my nipples are so hard that they could cut diamonds – but it was windy, cloudy, wet, and 25 degrees outside, and I had to wear plastic bags on my feet so that I didn’t freeze them in the mud I was standing in. Funny now, I guess…

DABBLING IN SPORTS

Yeah, I do like athletics. Surfing, racquetball, weight lifting, running, and maybe a little croquet every once in a while; I dabble. Those are my “fun time” activities as well as the things that keep me in great shape.  I guess I have some pretty solid arms. Probably my favorite but I have never really thought about it.

WHATEVER I HAD TO DO

That actually happens to me all of the time – I’m kind of a big deal. No, I kid. I don’t know how I’d handle it; probably say “hey,” maybe take pictures – whatever I had to do.

Well, I gotta give it to the man upstairs over all, and the family does a lot to support me. My friends all mean the world to me, too. Other than that, I love being around and meeting new people all of the time, and I find it very fulfilling to challenge myself on the regular to better myself in all aspects.

Although I have a fun- loving, crazy, and spontaneous personality, it’s tied down by an incredible sense of self-determination, passion, and drive, and a genuine love and care for every person I meet and every goal I set. Plus, look at me. Kidding again. But seriously, do it.
