Edward:  Hello Dennis, welcome to Connex family. Well, just to start it up, tell us about yourself and your hometown. What are your personal and professional interests?

Dennis:  Hi people, I live in the Netherlands in a town 10 kilometers from Amsterdam... The place to be to go out, dance and have fun!

I am a military police officer. My rank is sergeant. I got a lot of different tasksto perform. I am a SWAT-member and I work in a close security team, for example: bodyguard, marksman, to protect ministers or other important people of the government, who are afraid that somebody will hurt them.

I spent a lot of time in the gym with a friend of mine. Too bad he died in a car accident 2 years ago (RIP Lucas). At that point I decided to do what I always wanted to do. Modeling, dancing and to do something with martial arts.

Edward:  As a model u think u´ve already achieved your main purposes in the modeling market? If not, which modeling agencies, fashion campaigns and designers would you like to work for?

Dennis:   I have not achieved my main purpose in modeling! I recently joined TonyJonesModelmanagement and he helped me a lot! Tony himself is one of the most charismatic persons I ever met! It is also great agency! I really want to work for: Dolce & Gabanna, Gucci, Prada, Armani... I would love to see my picture on the bottle of a fragrance. ;-)

Edward:  I´m sure you might have some funny/unusual model backstages stories.  Share with us some of these moments.

Dennis:  I am busy with a small book with the funniest things you ever heard during a photoshoot. Some examples:

- Pull down your pants please...
- Do you smoke? (weed is legal here in Holland!)
- Smoke!
- Get naked!
- Touch yourself!
- Look horny!
- Get down on the floor and get dirty!
- Its getting hot and steamy in here!
- Where do you want to take me? Here in the bed, against the wall, against the window???
- Take off that pants now!
- Let me see more skin , more skin, more, just take it off will you!
- No one has given it to me like you did!
- Oops! We have to shop that part off! ;-)
- And when you hang upside down naked, your thing will be in the way huh?

You all know: It is all about context!

Edward:  Are you a fashion guy? What do  you usually like to wear when you are not working?

Dennis: I like to wear all styles. Baggy, sporty, urban, suits, everything. It depends on my mood or what I have to do that day...

Edward:  What would u say is the key of the success? In your opinion, what are the upside and downside of a modeling career?

Dennis: Hard work and be passionate! If you want something, just grab it with both hands and dont let it go untill you achieved your goals! The upside for me is to have fun and make the most beautiful photos. To improve myself every shoot! It’s a thrill for me... The downside, When something is not going the way I want it to go, it is frustrating. But you can not work for every branch, because they look for different people.

Edward: You also have a passion for dancing and martial arts. Tell us more about it? What kind of sports do you like and which kind of dancing u appreciate?

Dennis: One of my best friends is a great dancer. He does it all! From breakdancing (b-boy) to salsa or even house. He taught me some moves form Usher and other hiphop styles.  He taught me how to be a freestyler in Dancing. Not to be kept in one group of music. In the club there are also different kind of styles and we want to dance on every style. And martial arts is a way of life, I like to combine those two! I love kungfu and boxing.

Edward:  We have some quick questions that Connex readers would like to know about you. Please, answer them and tell us why.

Dennis:

Eating: Fish or meat?
Meat, I love to bite!

Vacation: Beach or the mountains?
Beach, the hot sun and the beautiful people

Fashion campaign: clothed or underwear?
Underwear, I am still proud of my body

Movies: Action film or romantic ones?
Action, It just attracts me more than the romantic ones... I think it is also because of my work

Place to make love: at home, in the middle of a crowd, in a party or on a
paradisiac island?
Paradisiac Island, so we can do everything we want! ;-) EVERYTHING!!! Otherwise we get busted by the police ;-)

Sports: Group or individual ones?
Individual, so When things go wrong there is only myself to blame

Music: Rock or classical?
R&B, old classic soul and funk. I also need time to relax ;-)

Way of travel: by train, plane, ship or bike? 
Plane, the safest way to travel!

Best season: spring, summer, autumm or winter?  
Summer of course!

Edward:  How was 2006 for you and what are the expectations for 2007?

Dennis:  2006 was good, but I hope that profesionally I achieve more with modeling in 2007. The rest of my career is going well also!
