CHRIS DARBY showing what beauty and art can be created with awesome physique

TEXAS BOY I was born and raised in Texas and still reside there. For almost 4yrs now, since I turned 20yrs of age I have been a competitive bodybuilder and model. I was involved in Football, Swimming, Track and Soccer in high school. In college I only played Soccer my freshman year. Soccer and swimming were my main sports of choice during my high school years.

FELL INTO LAP I would really have to say that bodybuilding fell into my lap and found me initially my freshman year in college, Ottawa University, which I was originally attending because of a Soccer scholarship. I’ve always been predisposed for it and I’ve always been told that I would grow up to be in this business or even power lifting for that matter. This would be because Ottawa and Overland Park, KS are highly populated with a vast majority of bodybuilders.

CREATING BEAUTY AND ART And of course modeling just so happened to tag along becoming a part of my bodybuilding career as well, giving me a different way to express and show off my body and hard work, and what beauty and art you can create with just a Physique.

AMAZINGLY PLACED So far I have competed in 6 shows and amazingly placing no lower then third in each one. I recently just competed in the 2007 NPC Texas State Championship October 27th and won my lightweight division, which qualified me for NPC Nationals that November placing 10th as a first timer.

NO QUESTIONS ASKED My Lifestyle is very committed and takes a lot of heart, and dedication to go exist with. I am very grateful for the loved ones I have for they support me all the way with no questions asked and understand the sacrifice my lifestyle takes. Without them I would not be who I am and where I am today.

LONELY ROAD There are times it can be a lonely road, becoming extremely focused on your passion, and way of life, that many around you feel left out. Only the TRUE TRUE friends survive the journey. It's the cost of being successful sometimes. So as you set out on your journey.....realize that there's a price for success. I’m willing to pay the cost!

HARD ON SELF I have always been either the best or one of the best at everything and anything I do, play, or compete at and in.  I’ve always been really hard on myself and had high expectations for myself. Although many say his name and many also look up to him, he really has been the greatest influence for me when it comes to reading his books, watching his videos and studying his initial methods of how to go about things.

KUDOS TO ARNOLD He also taught me how to use everything that happens in life and take it into the gym and use it to my advantage such as motivation. This person would be Arnold Schwarzenegger. However, I made a significant change at the end of my second year and my trainer, as well as loyal friend, Ernesto Osorio, became my greatest influence of all time.

ENJOYING LIFE Outside of my bodybuilding life I like to relax and go swimming, catching up with friends if I have some free time. I also love to spend time with my family such as hanging out with my nephew Brandon who is 3yrs old and the newest edition my other nephew Cameron who is 6mths old. Since I’m a big movie buff, I like taking my girl to movies as well as going out with her generally.
